There’s nothing typical about a typical day for Doug. As an Operations Supervisor Forester he can be found out in the field meeting with his contractors, discussing where they’re at with the harvest plans, and checking the site, either by foot or by drone, making sure that everything is being done sustainably. “I really didn’t expect that I would be given a pilot’s licence to go out and fly and drone and learn how to use that,” said Doug. “You have so much opportunity to go in a lot of different ways.” When he’s not in the field or getting a birds-eye view from above, Doug can be found in the office working on plans, getting things ready for his contractors so that they can run smoothly and efficiently. Doug will tell you that there’s a lot of variety in what he does, and he likes that he can pick and choose what he does and where.
