The Position:
The heavy equipment mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of forestry equipment such as buncher, skidder, log loader and log processor. This position requires a person with a strong work ethic, the ability to problem solve and work in a busy shop and field environment. The ideal candidate will have at least three years experience working on forestry equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Mix of shop and in field work – job van provided
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with air
- Ability to lift up to 100lbs using safe lifting techniques
- Good communication skills
- Welding experience would be an asset
- Ensure all safety regulations and quality standards are met
- Complete work orders on assigned equipment
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
- Tools provided
Skills:
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized in a team environment.
·Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
·Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
·Must be able to work independently with little supervision or as part of a team with other employees.
