We are looking for an HR Manager at our lumber remanufacturing facility in Acheson, Alberta.

As our HR Manager, you are a key member of the senior management team and are responsible for all human resource activities throughout the operation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Program. You’ll be able to jump right in and make this position your own given your strong coaching and development skills and desire for continuous improvement. You love a fast-paced environment, which will pair seamlessly with our Talent Acquisition team as you’ll assist in hiring the best and brightest throughout our industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Occupational Health and Safety Program
  • Development and coaching support for staff and employees
  • Assist with the recruitment of hourly and salary employees
  • Management and coordination of the Ability Management Program
  • Administration of hourly and salary benefit plans
  • Facilitation and conflict resolution support for the division

Ideally, you’ll bring a diploma or degree in Human Resources or at least three to five years of Human Resources related experience. You also have a high sense of urgency and an acute ability to aptly prioritize tasks and priorities. For bonus points, you come equipped with a background in ability management and workplace investigations. This role is primarily accountable to our Plant Manager while also providing support to the operations, Safety Designate, and other departments of the business. Starting in 1982, in Acheson Alberta, the facility started with a chop saw and a truckload of lumber, trimming boards by hand.
