Spray Lake Sawmills (SLS) is a family-owned company located in the southern east slopes of Alberta with offices in Cochrane and the Crowsnest Pass. The company operates under two Forest Management Agreements and a coniferous timber quota in a highly integrated portion of the Province.

SLS has an exciting opportunity for a junior field position working out of our office in the Crowsnest Pass. The successful candidate will be responsible for harvest layout and assist in forest harvest planning, reforestation supervision, harvest supervision, completing monthly bush inventories, and other facets related to the field delivery of the science of forest management. Familiarity with Alberta Legislation and Operating Ground Rules is an asset.

Candidates should have a minimum of 1-5 years of applicable experience and have good interpersonal skills for working in a team environment and in dealing with stakeholders. An interest and knowledge in GIS applications are also an asset. The successful applicant must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and eligibility for registration in the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals.
