Millar Western is looking to hire an experienced Journeyperson Electrician to work at its sawmill in Whitecourt, Alberta. Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Journeyperson Electrician will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for maintaining and installing all equipment relating to power and controls. This position will be required to follow the production shift schedule.
The ideal candidate
Qualified candidates will be certified to work in the province of Alberta as an Electrical Journeyperson and possess a strong background in electronics, Variable Frequency drives, PLC’s, network systems, computer and optimizing systems. They will have a proven record of accomplishment in their trade and possess strong safety, communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills, as well as an ability to work in a team environment. Experience in a sawmill, planer mill, or portal cranes environment would be definite assets.
