Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. is currently seeking a dual-trade certified Heavy Duty Mechanic and Welder to join our head office shop location in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will provide quality mechanical services to the company’s fleet of mobile equipment, with a primary focus on major component rebuilds, fabrication, modifications, and hydraulic diagnosing.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal applicant will have a Heavy Duty Mechanic and Welding Trade Certification with five years of experience in an industrial setting. Experience in rebuilding Caterpillar engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic/electrical diagnostics is a must. The successful candidate must be a motivated self-starter with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. As responsibilities include the provision of guidance and direction to company shop utility personnel as well as outside contractors, the previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset.
