Millar Western is seeking a well-organized individual with good communications skills and relevant experience to join our HR team as Payroll Supervisor. Reporting to the Vice-President of Human Resources and working out of our corporate office in Edmonton, Alberta, the successful candidate will supervise the payroll section and oversee payroll processing, reporting and pension and benefits administration. In conjunction with the Finance & Administration team, the Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing related internal business processes and controls. This position will involve closely coordinated work with payroll and HR professionals at our operating sites and the development of effective internal client service relationships. 

The ideal candidate:
This position requires an advanced knowledge of payroll, reporting, benefits and pension administration systems and applicable legislation, as well as excellent analysis and internal controls capabilities.  Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Payroll Manager would be considered an asset, as would experience with SAP.  The ideal candidate will have significant experience in payroll positions, showing advancing levels of responsibility and demonstrated supervisory skill.
