Millar Western is seeking a Finishing Superintendent to play a key role in our Whitecourt Wood Products Division.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of all finishing-end processes, including planer mill, shipping, kilns, and planer maintenance.  He or she will work closely with the leadership team to ensure performance objectives are met safely, efficiently, and effectively.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills and a strong background in lumber manufacturing, including progressively responsible roles and experience in a planer mill setting.  As well as technical knowledge and analytical ability, he or she will exhibit the excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively delegate tasks and to direct, support and motivate others in a respectful team environment. Experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance systems is required.
