Our Hinton Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following positions:

ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS – LABOUR POOL

The successful incumbents for these positions must have a Grade 12 Diploma from a recognized Canadian institution and have reached the age of legal majority in Alberta, and possess one of the following:

  • High School graduation including successful completion of two of the following subjects: Chemistry 20, Math 20, or Physics 20; OR
  • Pulp and Paper Technology Certification
  • A 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate

Applicants must be able to comprehend the pulp making process, have some mechanical inclination, be able to process information quickly, and be open to challenging and rewarding positions. The ideal candidates must show high motivational and organizational skills, must be reliable and committed, and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills while being able to effectively work in a team environment.

As part of the recruitment process, applicants must submit proof of educational requirements (transcripts) along with their resume in order for consideration. For applicants with international education, qualification assessments showing the Canadian equivalencies must be submitted at the time of application. Application deadline is August 31st, 2017. Late applications will not be considered. A math/science/reading comprehension test is required as part of the selection process.

Candidates must commit to six weeks of extensive training in the kraft pulp making process, basic tool management, and basic troubleshooting. At the end of the training period, candidates will be placed in the Labour Pool and will have opportunities to progress within various mill departments.

Training start date – September 25th, 2017
