Vanderwell is an Alberta, family-owned company operating in northern Alberta for more than 75 years. We have modern sawmill, planer mill, and pellet mill facilities, which produce dimensional lumber, wood pellets, shavings, and chips for wholesale customers.
We’re a major employer in the local region, we have more than 150 employees working throughout the operation — mill production, sales & shipping, woodlands, truck and mobile equipment shops, and administration. Contract and part-time employees are also employed in maintenance, transportation, and seasonal activities

The Opportunity
We are currently looking to hire General Production employees for our manufacturing facilities in Mitsue Industrial Park. Job duties include:
- Sweeping floors and clearing debris from work areas, walk areas and from around equipment as required
- Monitoring conveyors for plug-ups
- Using an air wand to blow dust and debris from trim saw area during crew breaks
- Emptying shop garbage receptacles, cleaning tools and parts shelves
- Painting shop shelves, cabinets and steps as required
- Pressure washing exteriors of company vehicles (i.e. trucks, loaders, cats, etc.) as required
- Moving vehicles into or out of service bays if required
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
Working Conditions:
- Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazards
- Lifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment is frequently required
- Required use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditions
Must have:
- A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team player
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Mitsue Industrial Park
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Mill experience is an asset, but not required
- Valid first aid certificate preferred
- Available to work a variety of shifts including: day, nights, or week-ends
