Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a SAP Application Team Leader to manage all aspects of SAP solutions deployed at Al-Pac. Leading a team of functional and IT professionals, the Team Leader will be the single point of contact, as it relates to the deployment, and support for Al-Pac’s SAP solutions, for Al-Pac users, suppliers, and members of Al-Pac’s IT team. This includes monitoring and mitigating risks to service levels by ensuring that Al-Pac’s SAP solutions are meeting defined and agreed service delivery targets. Serve as the IT SAP Solutions operational support for escalation point for risks, action items, issues, and decisions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Management of Al-Pac’s SAP solution set and team – Provide oversight, and day to day management, assign tasks and duties to SAP team members, including co-managed service providers. Plan for and update in accordance with SAP releases and business process changes
  • Evolve SAP solutions and functionality– Work with business areas to design and implement new SAP functionality to support business users and processes. Recommend updates and functional changes as well as ensuring seamless integration between SAP solutions and legacy applications
  • Co-manage service delivery with selected suppliers – Single point of contact for Al-Pac’s SAP supplier contracts. Responsible for the formalization of service level agreements. Monitor co-managed services for SLA compliance
  • SAP Solution cost management – Review vendor invoices and update financial cost forecasting as needed. Be responsible for commercial issues resolution and support the IT Business Unit Leader in negotiations with the enterprise vendors and partners
  • Support – Troubleshoot issues as they arise in a manner that is systematic, predictable, and timely. Liaise with other IT team members and suppliers to resolve any raised issues

Role Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma or its equivalent in information and communication technologies or computing science, supplemented by 5 to 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated mastery in troubleshooting and managing information and communications technology
  • Experience working with and leading SAP S4/Hana Centres of Excellence
  • Certifications in project management, organizational change management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4) are desirable
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Working knowledge of computer networking, technology infrastructure, and information technology security
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
