You welcome the idea of getting a little dirt on your boots and have the ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork. You have a strong work ethic and operate in a safe and efficient manner, ready to “log” in each day.
As the Field Assistant, you will be working a 6 month contract (open to 4 month for the right candidate). Your daily responsibilities will include the supervision of planting, vegetation management, and site preparation. You’ll update key silviculture databases following completion of activities and be involved in the finalization of post-harvest prescriptions and regeneration surveys. Safety is no accident, and you will work to continue your spotless reputation as you ensure compliance with Canfor’s safety, environmental, and quality standards.
In a perfect world, you have a current or past enrollment in Forestry or Natural Resources Management program and/or forestry experience as well as a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
