Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a Finishing End and Shipping Supervisor for our OSB facility located in Edson, AB.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this position will supervise the Shipping department and coordinate efforts in the Finishing End.  This requires both a focus on people leadership as well as full utilization of information, established reliable procedures, and methods that impact employees, materials, and equipment.

This position will be 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must have a strong commitment to Weyerhaeuser’s safety and quality programs.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional approach with all drivers, visitors, and fellow employees.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate shipping department personnel.
  • Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards for area of responsibility.
  • Interact with sales and logistics to coordinate shipments and deliveries.
  • Process paperwork accurately and procedurally correct for outgoing shipments.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of trucks and box cars.
  • Maintain equipment, warehouse inventory, packaging, and shipping supplies.
  • Assists in production scheduling in order to have sufficient inventories to meet shipping requirements.
  • Support finishing ends reliability through the use of root cause analysis.
  • Communication of changes through the management of change.
  • Knowledge of OSB manufacturing and shipping processes.
  • Must have a track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in safety, quality, productivity, change management, and people development.
  • Demonstrated success in working with customers, direct reports, peers, other department employees including managers.
  • Team oriented and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be pro-active in process improvements and have excellent follow-through in meeting commitments.
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with SAP.
  • Strong organizational skills with very close attention to detail.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multitask with ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience with detailed production schedules.
  • Critical thinker, enthusiastic and positive approach towards employees and work.
