Application deadline: Applications will be accepted until position is filled

Millar Western’s Spruceland Millworks division, a lumber remanufacturing facility located just outside Edmonton in Acheson, AB, is hiring for positions on our production crews. Successful applicants will work in a production-line setting, as part of a team completing tasks including lumber stacking, feeding, grading, bundling, cleanup and operation of various lumber manufacturing machines. Work shifts are Monday through Friday and rotate every two weeks from 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM.  Spruceland occasionally works Saturdays, and the schedule is posted at the beginning of the year. We are closed during the week of Christmas each year. We have a comprehensive COVID-19 program to protect the health and safety of our people, including hourly sanitization, barriers, face-mask use in all public areas, and social distancing requirements throughout the mill.

The ideal candidate
Successful candidates will be safety focused, effective team players, proactive problem-solvers, and able to keep up with the physical demands of our fast-paced workplace. A willingness to learn, and to pitch in where needed to help achieve company goals and objectives, is a must. Previous lumber remanufacturing experience would be an asset, but is not required.
